Netball World Cup 2019 Cookie Policy

Introduction

We will collect information about your computer and about your visits to and use of our website, including your IP address, geographical location, browser type and version, operating system, referral source, length of visits, page views and website navigation paths through the use of cookies, unless you set your browser to block our cookies. Cookies are small text files which we store on the hard disk of your device and which collect information about your browsing behaviour and pass this information to us. We use this information in a de-personalised, aggregated fashion to identify trends, popular parts of website etc. We are not able to attribute any browsing actions and patterns to any particular individual although the cookies may be used to customise what you see on our website including advertisements.

In addition to the above we may place third party cookies on your device to advertise Netball World Cup 2019 and our products across the internet (for example via Google AdWords Remarketing and other services) and also use a technology called pixels to allow us to monitor what you click on in our marketing emails. A process called “remarketing” uses the pixel and cookie information to display advertisements tailored to you based on what parts of the Netball World Cup 2019 website you have viewed using the information stored in the cookie on your machine. The objective of this activity is to attempt to present you with advertising that is likely to be more relevant to you. This does not in any way identify you or give access to your computer. Remarketing allows us to tailor our marketing to better suit your needs and only display advertisements that are relevant to you.

You may refuse to accept cookies by activating the setting on your browser which allows you to refuse the setting of cookies. However, if you select this setting you may be unable to access certain parts of our website.

About Cookies

Cookies are categorised into four types:

  1. Those which are absolutely necessary for us to provide our website services to users (e.g. a cookie is used to collect information about what you put in a shopping basket in an on-line shop.  This cookie’s contents are cleared at the end of the browsing session);
  2. Those which allow us to provide functionality on our website (e.g. a cookie can remember your font settings, location, or language settings);
  3. Those which allow us to monitor the performance of our website (e.g. Google Analytics to measure which pages users visit the most, the page they come from to our site etc.); and
  4. Tracking cookies which monitor people’s use of websites in order for that information to be used in marketing activities (e.g. if you click on an item of interest on our website, you may see an advertisement for that item on a different website.  In that scenario the tracking cookie has logged what you looked at and passes that information to an advertising agency who then use it to present advertisements to you that it thinks will be of interest to you).

We use three types (2,3 and 4) of cookies on our website and we allow other organisations to place cookies on your device when you use our website.  A full list of the cookies we use is available below:
